It's not the idea that's the problem, it's the execution.

B/W built up the final twist perfectly. Yeah, N did get overbearing at times, but it's better than HOLY SHIT THAT REDHAIRED LUNATIC IS TEAM FLARE'S BOSS STOP THE MOTHERFUCKING PRESSES.

X/Y had so many potential plotlines that went to waste. The Gym leaders that do nothing, how Lysandre went insane, AZ, the war, everything.

I liked gen 5 more but gen 6 is still one of my favorites. The story wasn't as good, but Lysandre is my favorite villain ever. Also it looks a lot prettier and introduced lots of awesome shit like character customization and diagonal movement

I really liked Gen 5, I mean really fucking liked Gen 5. Black 2 was my all time fave when it was released, but I'd have to say X&Y are the definitive Pokemon games right now. Moving to 3D makes the battles feel a hell of a lot more dynamic just because the camera spins around showing different angles rather than watching 2 sprites shoot sprites at each other. The ability to catch a fuckload of Pokemon from every gen makes it feel like a 'best of' where what made every gen good was crammed into the game.

Are X&Y perfect? Nope, they have flaws, but even though I loved B2 I can't think of a single reason to play it when I can play Y instead.

I played all the way up to pearl but lost interest and never played black or white or black and white 2. When I saw my friends playing this game it took all of 5 seconds for my love for pokemon to be rekindled because it looks fucking gorgeous and I can't wait for more pokemon games now that theyve finally got amazing visuals..it's only going to get better and I am never going to go back and play black or white.

What? Okay listen I am an ENORMOUS storyfag and really liked a good deal about how N as a character was handled in BW but pretty much everyone in XY was hamfisted and poorly implemented as fuck. AZ is barely even present, he has all the personality of a fucking doorknob. If anything I felt worse for Lysandre because he's at least around long enough to have some character development.

Not at all. When you outspeed and take out their last mon because you had a better speed IV despite training and they hadn't had the time or energy to go through the ridiculous process of breeding for perfect stats (or any of the other situations where a misplaced IV could cause a loss) nothing fair has occurred. The only fair pokemon battle is one where both players selected their teams with the entire wealth of what is possible ingame available to them. This is why I only play sims until hack programs come out and usually even afterwards.

But the "skill" in pokemon battling is not breeding until the RNG decides to be nice to you, and doing so requires no real skill whatsoever. Skill in pokemon is about strategizing and teambuilding, which the explicitly unnecessary process (given that it is a DIGITAL GAME) of breeding and training is a hindrance to.

yes as far as natures and ivs go, synchronize abra for nature and you can catch pokemon in friend safari with at least 2 31s most of the time 3 or 4 for me..i dont mind people cheating one bit but they did make it alot less time consuming for those who actually play the game

I liked it more. Seeing as I am the consumer I paid for the games I wasted a good ~$200 on copies of gen 5 games (B/W B2/W2 and imported a copy of white because I was impatient), I feel that is all that should matter I do not regret my purchase this time.

Agreed. I don't think there was a single gen VI Pokemon I didn't initially like, whereas in gen V I had to deal with awful shit like the starters, Garbodor, Elektross, Krookodile or the genies.
