I thoroughly enjoy being able to scale the 3d or even turn it off when it's bothering me, but still at least have the option of using it when I want to.

But pic related for the main reason I would hate the 2ds.

I actually hold my 3DS open like this and it's comfortable. Also I never use 3D and play with headphones on.

i would probably get my kid a 2DS if he were like 6 or 7 years old so he/she wouldn't break the hinges. Obviously if they were old enough to responsibly handle a 3DS, I'd buy them that.
