I am breeding a Chansey at the moment. I want said Chansey to learn heal bell. So I check to see who I need to breed with and it's Skitty I go get my Skitty and get him heal bell. When I go to put them in the Daycare they don't like each other? Anyone care to explain what I have done wrong?

That just determines how likely they are to have an egg after the required steps.

They'll still breed but it will take way longer to get eggs. Some pokemon are more compatible with others, I think it depends on their trait.

Everytime you take 256 steps a chance to receive the egg goes off based on how well the pokemon get along. "They seem to get along"- 50% for ever 256 steps "They don't seem to like each other very much"- 20% for every 256 steps "They prefer to play with other pokemon"- 0% chance, different egg groups.

Just ignore it for now as it's not that important, but if you do want to speed things up the two Pokemon should have different IDs, be the same species or (if you want maximum efficiency) both.

so, does a one use item held by a pokemon stay after a wifi battle, or do i have to farm shittons of focus sashes?

>>15314844 The Chansey you put in the day-care will not learn Heal Bell. The egg will hatch and that Chansey will know Heal Bell.

How accurate is this? Iv received up to 3 eggs in a single repel which should wear off after 250 steps. What is going on behind the scenes that I'm not aware of?
One time, I picked up an egg and went inside to get my pokemon back and the lady said that her husband wanted to see me again and had a new egg. I can tell you that there are not 250 steps between the counter and the daycare guy at front unless I somehow timetraveled.

>>15315688 Obviously, I don't know how that would be to understand but either it isn't correct or there is something else happening. I was using max repels to see exactly how far I needed to go and was getting multiple eggs before it would run out and in that one instance I took less than 10 steps.
So something needs to be clarified somewhere about what's going on here because the whole 256 step deal isn't entirely correct.
