So how do you build this monster?
I was going for the standard Sub+Disable build, but now I'm not so sure. Destiny Bond, Gleam, Sludge Bomb, and Shadow ball might be a better pool.

Destiny Bond makes good use of Shadow tag. But I think the need to mega evolve gives them the chance to swap out before Shadow tag kicks in.

Sub, perish song, spam protect 'til the end. Hypnosis alternatively. Of course you also need shadow tag.

Sub is only useful on mega gengar for the very first turn you use him when you assume an opponent will switch into a counter so you set it up to get hopefully one or two free attacks.

After he evolves sub is worthless because counters won't be coming in any more, will they? So you lose coverage.

Not that running sub to potentially take out a counter is bad or anything but it's just something to consider. If Gengar can't one-shot the priority user he's still countered, though he can probably take a chunk out of their health before having to switch out.

Hypnosis is unreliable as fuck, nigger, try again.
honestly with mega gengar, your best bet is with shadow ball, sludge bomb, focus blast, and dazzling gleam and just switch out when needed.

honestly, iv'e never had a problem with aegislash, my gengar usually OHKOs it in 1 shadow ball (maybe 2 if it's got better SP. DEF)

Mega gengar gets absolutely raped in a single hit if you know what you're doing. Ubers like zygarde, mewtwo, etc don't, no matter what you use, because they're ubers.

Gengar already outspeeds a ton of pokemon, but i can see where you're going with it.

dazzling gleam is a fantastic addition to gengar's movepool, use it if you can, it's really usefull against those pesky dark types.
though focus blast is good to keep around for normal types.

I use Shadow Ball, Dazzling Gleam (really good), and Sludge Bomb with the Gengarite. Pretty good sweeper, can 1HKO with Shadow Ball most overused things we are seeing as of now, still has Dazzling Gleam to handle Dragons and Destiny Bond pretty much guarantees you take down at least someone using Earthquake.

There should be a way to undo Mega, though. Just imagine, switching between Shadow Tag AND Leviate. Fuck.

My friend's Aegislash pretty much rapes my Mega Gengar. Timid with 31 in everything but attack adn 252SpAtk/252Spd/4HP.
I can't kill it in one with Shadow Ball, and if in that turn he uses Swords Dance he can 1HKO me with fucking Shadow Sneak.
