>>15325402Not him but I did something similar in about the same time (a bit longer, first time breeding) with Espurrs, if it's a pokemon you can get in safari it's got 2 to begin with, then with destiny knot it's not that hard to start churning out 3-5 IV babies in a couple generations.
I think what's more important is the nature, and if it has any egg moves. You may not get a ton for the one you've caught, but you can use those IVs to breed some competitively viable babies that are worth more and could be traded for other high-IVs.
As for shines someone might give you a fish/chain shiny for it, but perfect IVs just aren't worth as much this gen, for better or worse.
