Just a daily reminder that the next version after X/Y will not be set in Kalos. Meaning that all the wasted plotlines in X/Y will never be fixed or elaborated on.

I think the new region's going to be DLC. The backpacker also says "Don't worry, you'll see it soon." Pokemon generally doesn't break the fourth wall unless it's to explain buttons and shit, so I think this means Calem/Serena will see the new regions, ie they'll be in X/Y.

Of course, it could also mean that Calem/Serena will show up in the next version as a fightable NPC ala Red, but Gamefreak hasn't established a canon protagonist since Red, and that'd fly in the face of the whole idea of customization, so I don't think that's going to happen.

Still better than people claiming it was going to take place in Hoenn. Ugh.

That wasn't DLC. Mew was already coded into the game. DLC implies that it isn't on the cartridge already.

I believe there's a quote about how they weren't going to have DLC because they wanted it to be a complete game from the start.

Xerosic is one crazy bastard. Their version sacrifices hacking of blank Pokeballs for instant Shadow-esque enhancement of stolen ones that already have Pokemon in them.

Lysandre's doc oc setup was probably a prototype he put on to steal Xerneas/Yveltal back from you, and his team suddenly gaining levels was from the virus.

I think another Kalos game is pretty likely. For one, if the backpacker's lines can be taken as evidence, then I'm not sure why all of X/Y's open-ended plot lines can't be. Plus, Zygarde's there for a reason, and it's most likely not "complete" since its BST is lower than Xerneas and Yvetal.

I think the likely case is that the next version will include both Kalos and the new region. Or, this is going to be another short gen and Gamefreak already has ideas for Gen 7. Or, we'll get a third Kalos game, and another game with a new region, all in the same gen. A lot of possibilities for the franchise's future.

The point was, if we can take the backpacker's lines as evidence for another region, then I don't see why we can't take all of Kalos' open plot hooks as evidence for another Kalos game as well.

Orre games weren't made by Gamefreak. They're most likely not canon and you shouldn't hold your breath for them to ever return.

Imagine it. You're running around in some city in a post-game, and there he is dancing in the overworld with his Ludicolos as NPCs watch. Then you talk to him, and a battle with one of the best tracks in the entire game starts playing as you get wrecked by his Rain team in the 70s.
