I know /vp/ doesn't really like this topic much, but maybe we can get something constructive out of this.

Suppose Hoenn remakes do happen (however likely/unlikely you think those are), what would you like changed? What would you like added? What do you think they'll keep from Emerald?

I hope they keep the Battle Frontier the way it was. The facilities anyways. They were a lot of fun, especially the Battle Pike. They should also keep the secret bases, but make it so you can visit your friend's secret bases via wifi instead of the original wireless.

I both have to agree and disagree with this, largely due to battle palace. So long as they clarify battle palace a bit more though I'm happy. That and I wonder if Feebas would be an asshole to catch again.

I never thought of this one, but yeah, I would love street pass secret bases.

But honestly, overall, I don't think there's much they could change/add to do much good for gen 3, as long as they just give it an updated look and throw in the new pokes/endgame content like they did with HG/SS then everything will be good.

I'm sure they'd keep Emerald's changes to the plot at least as far as Rayquaza is concerned, though how they'd do the Aqua/Magma dual-version thing and keep Emerald's story at the same time is beyond me.

i hope that the sea routes have some ground to explore and they introduce pokemon-specific repels (wingull/tentacool) like maybe bring some old lady five certain pokemon and she uses them to make a certain repel.

I'd change gym leaders having a bit more of participation in the storyline and holy fuck another team. Team Aqua and Magma are retarded.

I'd keep everything else though. All of this, assuming we're getting the latest game mechanics.

It's been awhile since I've played Emerald, but wasn't that what Emerald's stroy was? Both team Aqua & Magma were part of the story in Emerald while still having Rayquaza in the plot?

Yes, but they were both evil in Emerald while RS painted one as good. If they remake RS while keeping Emerald's plot, how will that work?

Honestly, with the improved Surfing speed and lower overall encounter rates of Gen VI, the main problem with Hoenn is pretty much fixed. Add a bit more variety to the Pokemon encountered on the water, and you're golden.

Okay, I see what you mean now. They could always just do a new story like what Black & White 2 did. Just make it so the evil team awakens the box Legendary. It's rampaging awakens the other Legendary and the two start to fight in Sootopolis. While they're fighting, you battle the leader of the evil team of your version (with Groudon and Kyogre fighting in the battle background)

I really, REALLY want to see that scene with Rayquaza coming out of the sky in 3D. The first time I saw that I was surprised at how good it looked with just static sprites.

Seeing the box legends fighting in Sootopolis in 3D would also be cool. They just kinda sat there in Emerald.
