I know abut evs, ivs natures and all that shit but how do I go about building a team? What do I need in a team to make it work?

Just test the waters by doing free battles. Most pokemon aren't useless if built right.

Just don't pick something with huge glaring weaknesses like Aurorus unless you've got a gimmick to go along with it.

If a widely used Pokemon can single handedly take out your entire team then you need to figure out why it can do that to your team and fix that reason.
