Both shinies are rare, just nidoran female in general seems to be rare in this gen specifically. You can use horde battles to find them but its always 1 female and 4 males per battle and when chaining nidorino seems to be more common than nidorina and also nidorina and nidorino are uncommon so its very hard to find one.

I started to MM last night. Going for Shiny Protean Froakie. I got my first and only shiny in a Friend Safari so I had camped out in those for a bit previously. With no more good luck I figured I should switch methods. Hatching eggs is pretty relaxing, and it's an easy enough task that I can just keep biking back and forth while I work on computers, so I don't have to take an ~8 hour break from Pokemon necessarily since.

Just Hatched a shiny gastly after 12-16 boxes. Checked it and it had 5 EV but its 31/31/31/31/31/xx. Then checked it on serebii and found out its speed is only 8-9 ;_:
