Just finished box 36 of Froakies. I've been at this for far too long. I improved the potential IVs and Nature after box 30, but still, this is painful, As was hatching a Shiny with TORRENT at box 10.

IVs and nature doesnt really matter, although id prefer a decent one since the Froakie is at least Timid (random IVs)

I'm assuming you didn't record the time it took you to make that save file. If you did, adding about 3 seconds to the time would make your starter shiny.

I'd say that a Safari Zone shiny is worse. Unlike the Professor shiny, there's this slim hope that you'll get lucky and catch it, so it's all the more devastating when it inevitably runs on the first turn.

First shiny I ever saw was one of those, in D/P. I played the series since the start, and never saw a shiny until the damn D/P safari zone. I'm so glad they fixed the safari zone for X/Y, because that sucked.

The ONLY wild shiny I have ever seen was a Pidgey in HG before I got my pokeballs.

Since then it's only been events, and with XY, MM'd once and two fishing chains.

hope you get it soon, FS is probably where you'll most likely see it but fishing pretty much gaurantees a shiny eventually, just you cant tell which one it will be.
And I think it must be changed for most of the game.
in Y i got a shiny fenniken after 30srs, and I've also encountered a shiny sentret in the wild, which is the first time ive ever encountered a wild pokemon without specifically hunting in an area for ages.

Suction Cups isn't required, and with you hunting for shinies, you might as well bring along a Synchronizer.

The Manectric has slightly nerfed speed due to nature but its special attack is boosted so that's kinda OK — haven't checked the hidden values yet.
