You don't want to be before your opponent attacks. Aegislash either OHKOs the opponent first with a shadow sneak or they switch into defense forme. That's literally your only options unless you can outspeed with a brave 60 base speed or tank a hit with 60 base defenses and 50 base HP.
Ergo, no, you can't. So you king's shield. Like any rational person who doesn't want to try boosting with those defenses or risk getting KO'd in a single attack.
Your opponent is running off the fact that you will King's Shield, so unless they're absolutely retarded, they won't just decide "oh hey they're gonna use king's shield because it would be retarded not to, this is a perfect time to attack them with a physical contact move". Fuck that. If they can boost instead, they will.
