It needs a turn to go Mega before Shadow Tag is active, so all you have to do is switch your counter in right away.
The general strategy is to bring him in, Mega Evolve and put out a substitute, and switch him out again before the counter can hit him. If SR is active on the field, by the time you bring him in to actually TRAP something for a revenge kill, he's already at 50% HP (25 from Sub, 25 from two switch-ins).
And using him costs you your only Mega.
He's really not much more dangerous than Magnezone or Dugtrio at that fucking point, I mean really.
The only thing that's interesting about him is that he has Destiny Bond + Perish Song, so he can more or less take out ANY threat on the opposing team as a suicide revenge killer. An interesting niche and one that may in fact be in OU (as Gengar already IS, though that's largely in his capacity as a spinblocker which is less relevant in a defog-buffed meta), but there's no way he'll get banned.
Especially since the Mega has a 2x weakness to Quake, it's not likely to be overcentralizing.
