i personally, distinguish between the anime characters and their manga/game counterparts. I see them both as separate entities. I do not think that anime serena is going to end up being a romantic interest for ash regardless. It is just the wishful thinking of neckbeards that have wanted ash to hook up with a girl ever since misty was introduced.

im not saying its impossible, but i doubt it. Pokemon has found a paradigm that it can follow till the end of time. The reason ash doesnt grow up is because ash doesnt need to. They can make it the same way over and over again and it will shit money for eons to come. If ass had the possibility of finding a girlfriend it was most likely more possible in the very beginning of the series when the show didnt follow the predetermined path that defines it nowadays.

OH!!! dont get me wrong. I WANT to see it happen. I will probably watch the anime again if ash does get a girlfriend, and the series starts going in a "serious" direction. I hate ash as he is now, but i grew up with the little motherfucker. He has been at this whole "pokemon master" goal longer than naruto has dreamed of becoming hokage. I want to see him realize his dream, and i want to see an actual engaging character that develops.....i wont hold my breath though.
