I am IV breeding for the first time ever /vp/ and I have a question.

I have a Chansey at the moment and when I go to the IV guy he says this. "I see..I see This Pokemon has relatively superior potential over all. Blah Blah greatest stat is Attack, Sp ATK good, this pokemon has fantastic stats.

Should I now be putting that chansey in with my ditto for chances of better IV's?

If he doesn't say "those stats simply can't be beat!" then throw the pokemon away.

It doesn't matter what total your IVs come to, which is what that comment is referring to. What matters is which stats have perfect IVs.

When he says "this Pokemon has fantastic stats," what he means is that your Pokemon's highest IV isn't even 31. If he says, "those stats simply can't be beat," then whichever stats he named have perfect IVs.
