Nah. Meowth does nothing. At least Espurr has its vacant stares and gasps for comedy. The only way they could make a Meowth work would be if they made it talk, and we all know Pokemon can only say their names.

It was rare as fuck in Johto on a Sunday at EXACTLY 3 PM at the Forest behind the Ranch, kinda like how you never saw Slugma and Skarmory in the Orange Islands if you never actively hunted them down. I honestly thought Skarmory was Gen 5 myself, but I was shocked to see it show up in Hoenn quite commonly in a hidden area.

Meowth looks like a pokemon that has a better character but I like that that stare espurr does in every episode. And meowth wouldn't be able to do much like espurr uses its psychic powers to steal pokemon. And if espurr didn't use its psychic powers to land team rocket in a safe place like a tree when they blast off, they'd die so I don't know how it would work.
