Most of the time when I'm looking for Pokemon, people are asking for ridiculous things. I run into the typical "Pokemon at a lower level than they evolve", and sometimes Pokemon that aren't available at all, like Yamask or Feebas.

One time I put up a Calm, Serene Grace Togepi on the GTS. I was asking for a Vulpix, and commented that I'd like one with Drought.

A couple hours later, Togepi got traded, and I recieved a Japanese Female Vulpix with Drought, a Timid nature, and perfect Sp. Atk and Health IVs.

All in all, pretty good trade.

They always go fast.
Anything for it's opposite version equivalent, or something "rare" like Spiritomb for anything obtainable in the game normally will usually have no problems finding a trade parter. GTS is great for Pokedex completion.

I actually traded my Xerneas for a "6 IV" Ditto but, of course, it was just a regular Ditto. I don't care about Xerneas that much, it was going to stay in the box forever and become completely useless once the third version/sequels come out, but I still feel quite stupid since I was almost sure it would be a fraud.

Deposit a Pokemon asking for something specific in return. You leave and do whatever. Somebody searches for the Pokemon you deposited. If they have what you requested, they trade, which goes through instantly. The person who deposited checks if it's traded or not, and if it has, they then receive what they asked for. The two parties don't ever have to both be online at the same time.

Why those things never happens to me? When I go GTS I just see people offering any pokemon and I mean ANY in exchange for legendaries. People post anything that can be find in safari like Magmar or Larvesta or Giglar and ask for legendary in exchange.

I understand someone at some point can belive the pokemon he just caught is someway rare. I can understand some are just hoping some random kid will exchange it.

I tried to get Yveltal, but everyone wants either a Pokemon from an older game that isn't obtainable here due to no Bank yet (mostly Mew), one of the unreleased legendaries, or a Level 1 to 10 Xerneas. Do these people even realize that none of their trades can be fulfilled?
