Psychic/Fairy is one hell of a typing. It's pretty much the new Dark/Ghost since four-five generations of poison and steel being nearly completely fucking worthless have taught most of us to not put moves of those types on pokemon unless they have STAB with it.

It's fucking with my mind pretty god damn hard.

Luckily gardevoir can get taken out pretty easily with physical stabs.
I have trouble with steel/ghost (aegislash) and steel/fairy (klefki) because fuck you fighting type.

Hydreigon is a good scarfer, fairies aint shit, if you use it as a check to threats with its coverage moves, and u-turn out when you need to it performs well in OU

also I guarantee you take any togekiss by surprise if you put head smash on your hydreigon, does about 80% or so with a life orb and very little investment, depends on the togekiss spread. Granted you'll nearly kill youself, but any togekiss is guaranteed to stay in to take the hit after coming in on you.

I've been running some calcs on Hydreigon this gen.

I'm fairly confidant that the only Fairies that can actually switch in on every move Hydreigon can run are Azumarill, Arceus, and Xerneas. Of course, Hydreigon will be stopped by other Fairies depending on which 4 moves it's using, but it has a lot to work with and shouldn't be underestimated.

As a Dark AND Dragon-fag, I am somewhat perturbed by the presence of a new type that fucks them both over. I am also STILL mad that there isn't a spammable Dark move with 90+ power. But I can't do anything about that.
Shame about Hydreigon. It's probably going to end up in the limbo that is BL when all's said and done, assuming it doesn't get a Mega...

I'm kinda glad that Dragon got nerfed, but I still hate a lot of fairies for doing it.
It's largely in the decision to name it "Fairy" when it really means magical creatures in general, but even more so it's the DESIGNS of the pokemon that they slapped Fairy on.

Gardevoir killing dragons. Fine.
Mawile killing dragons. Fine.
Florges killing dragons. Fine.

It's when a literal ball of fluff or other overly-cute chibified animal like Dedenne does it.
It doesn't look right. It feels like GF is trolling. Having an infant OHKO a mythical beast that was torching the countryside earlier that day just doesn't make any fucking sense.

And that's my only problem with Fairy.

I did a quick damage calculation and if mega gardevoir has perfect IV's and EV's in Sp.Def, there's no way a mega gengar could OHKO it even with 0 HP IV's and EV's at max Sp.Atk stat. Alternatively, STAB Psychic from Gerdevoir will always kill gengar with max Sp.Def and any HP.

And I will continue to be mad they made Fairy instead of buffing Ice, while nerfing Bug and Dark (which didn't need it at all). Why do you hate Ice-types, GameFreak? Why do you hate Bug-types not named Scizor, Genesect, or Volcarona?
