Now that gen 6 has been out for a while, what's the verdict on mega Charizard?
Is X better than Y?

X is really good coupled with Dragon Dance and its excellent typing.

Idk man, apart from team support I've done some bit of sweeping with megazard Y. The sun boost and insta-solarbeam, coupled with air slash for stab and flinch hax and a base stat of 160 or something, makes it pretty strong. It's too frail though, and I still consider X better.

I've been sweeping the battle maison with Charizard X really dang well.

I've also wrecked kiddies with Blaziken and people who like to use Mega Mawile.

All you need to know is when to attack head on or when you need to setup. Zard X can OHKO, Blaziken can't OHKO as good as him.

Y still has 100 base speed.

X is the same but it also can take advantage of Dragon dance. One Dragon Dance is enough to outspeed stuff like Mega Gengar.

Hence why I said X is better. Not to mention typing and pretty much perfect coverage once given earthquake.

Though, few things can survive a 160 base sp.att sun boosted fire blast STAB.

5 turns isn't enough to build a team around, auto weather is at most a self buff and maybe setup for one other mon.

Until you get outsped. 100 is good but its not flawless.

I just prefer X because it can sweep and also take a hit. Flare Blitz is unstopable on him even when unboosted.

I rarely had my weather last more than 5 turns in a weather. It is viable once the OP shit is banned and the metagame goes away from spamming the most OP thing left.
