I need some advice /vp/.

I'm new to the competitive scene and I'm currently in the midst of throwing a team together. I've got 3 pokemon right now, each with the abilities, natures, and IV's that I want, but I'm pretty clueless when it comes to EV's.

So could somebody tell me what EV's I should go for on these 3 pokemon.

Calm Goodra with the Gooey
Timid Heliolisk with Dry Skin
Calm male Meowstic with Prankster (Using him for Thunder Wave crippling and dual screens)

Basic EVs are usually just maxing out the two most important stats. For your Calm mons you probably want to max SpD and SpA for Goodra (assuming you're running it as a slow, specially attacking tank), and SpD/HP for maximum bulk with Meowstic since it's Prankster. Heliolisk is just SpA and Speed.

If you buy the Power items from the Battle Maison it'll make EV training a cinch. Just look up EV training hotspots in X and Y then bring along a Sweet Scent user to attract hordes. When the Pokemon is holding a Power item, you can farm 25 (50 with Pokerus) EVs per battle (max is 252). Best part is, if Exp Share is on it doesn't even have fight.

Is the EV training method you speak of more efficient than super training?

Yes, far more efficient. Even at 25 evs per battle it's still far easier than the 4-12 you get from Super training even with the bags. Just put a Pokemon with a spread move like Surf in the front of the party to wipe out hordes in one hit. The Pokemon you're EV training will get the EVs thanks to experience share.
