I see. Never tried this before so i have no idea how long it takes for a shiny, but I hear plenty of ppl saying they got a shiny after only 40 tries or somehting

40 tries? More like 40 boxes.
The shiny Mawile i went for took me over 650 eggs. And this is just the fucking batting average for shinys.

50+ eggs for my shiny ralts
60+ eggs for my shiny noibat
1 egg for my shiny bergmite (didn't even fucking want it)
16 eggs for my scyther
6 eggs for my axew (didn't even want it)

You can say I'm lucky (which I believe I am). Been trying to breed a shiny gooey goomy and an honedge and I believe I'm around 500+ eggs all together and nothing.

Depends on the pokemon, but I can safely say that I put about 1500 pineco out there.
