Not spreading anything. I didn't tip the guy and I have yet to find a shiny. I've done chain fishing and everything, no luck. I'm genuinely curious if tipping the guy affects shiny chances.

It's still just a rumor right now. I've tipped for way too long without anything. Chain Fishing is the only time I've seen a shiny, and that doesn't count for shit because it's easier than actually finding something.

I tipped the Furfrou in Cyclone Cafe before chain fishing and caught a Shiny Clawitzer on my 3rd cast.
