>>15445758Eh, 100 base speed is actually pretty slow when you can't reliably boost it (unless there's a reason to run Agility) and you can't use a Choice Scarf. Also, you're stuck at 80 base speed the turn you Mega Evolve because Game Freak programmers a shit. Thus, Gardevoir isn't a very good switch in to most Dragons before it Mega Evolves.
You also forgot about the Eon twins, who outspeed you on the non-bullshit turns as well.
That said, Fairy is probably one of, if not the most, effective metagame corrections Game Freak has ever attempted. As it stands, the type is actually (gasp) balanced. The Fairies with shit stats are shit, and those with good stats (and/or Huge Power) are good. Dragon, while still a powerful type (like I personally believe it's supposed to be) isn't quite so devastating anymore now that power can't outclass careful prediction and strategy as easily. Button still destroys a properly softened team, but it's a bit harder to keep the Buttoner around until then.
What they did to Ghost, however, is completely inexcusable. Holy fuck, that is a broken type. Normal is a shit type 93.5% of the time, and they just finished Fairynerfing the shit out of Dark. The number of OU Ghost resists this generation looks to be Blissey, Tyranitar, possibly Mega Kangaskhan, Greninja for one fucking turn, and Hydreigon if it's lucky... except Ghost/Fighting is the only remaining Perfect Pair.
But Fairy and Dragon are fine now, the Dragons "only" wreck face as much as their stats will let them, and none of them are uncounterable like Gen V Salamence, Kyurem B, and (don't laugh) Hydreigon (and even now I think only Azumarill is a 100% switch-on-anything-and-live-to-kill counter, thanks to Head Smash) were.
