Anyone else find it a little disappointing that X and Y are so glitchy? The lumiose city glitch that broke your game, the GTS glitch, the albino pokemon glitch, the pokemon-with-tv-static-like-textures glitch that apparently doesn't let you save after catching it or something like that, and the weird ass glitch in this image. I mean, sure, it's Pokemon's first leap into 3D in a main series title but fuck, that doesn't excuse the obvious lack of polish. Thank goodness that 3DS games are patchabe. If this shit happened with say, Platinum-- or hell, any of the ones before it, we would've been shit outta luck.

That garbage coupled with the spotty framerate makes me wish that they put a bit more time into making it.

Gravity+Sky Drop was discovered before the first tournament for Gen 5 prompting its ban. Trade evolution, GTS duplication, Acid Rain, door surfing and tweaking were all discovered within like, weeks of Gen 4 coming out for the very first time and they were much, much worse than anything Gen 6 has given us.

I suppose it's less the quantity of the glitches that's disappointing, and moreso the fact that after what, 20 years or something of making these games, shit like the lumiose city glitch still somehow manage to slip by? It's like, seriously, did NO ONE in testing SAVE in the biggest city in the game that you have to go through at LEAST three times in the main story plus the Looker quest in the after game? I realize games come with their fair share of glitches and occasionally weird game breaking ones, but god damn.

I doubt most RPGs, especially ones on the DS wherein there is a sleep mode, wherein you can save literally everywhere, actually test saving in every single location, then restarting the game, dozens upon dozens of times with only a staff of about 60 programmers.
Within the couple million people who bought and played the game, apparently not enough even figured out the glitch was a thing throughout their entire playthroughs until like, 24-48 hours after the game was launched to everyone because we didn't even have that sticky for it at launch and there were dozens of people who got the game early who had no idea the glitch existed.

People were freaking out about it because it was game breaking and random, it wasn't even slightly common, but the randomness of it meant it could happen to anyone. It was practically an artificial fear. Especially considering even those who experienced the bug could get past it by spamming the home button.
Plus, it's now patched anyway so I don't even see the problem.

Honestly the only thing that bothers me is the constant lagging. Turn on 3D and watch that framerate drop. Even without 3D the battles will still lag in certain situations. That bothers me.

>>15449571 >Because we're trying to compare it to previous games, where patching wasn't available. and that's retarded, because the previous games didn't have 3D models, customizable trainers, 3D, weren't on the 3DS, used sprites, didn't have the move Sky Drop, and so many other different things that using that as your only basis for comparing glitches between generations becomes entirely arbitrary.
