Smealum is not a huge Pokemon fan. He's more of a general 3DS hacker, and the Pokemon were only shown in a private chatroom as a sudden "holy shit look what I just did." He didn't put this on his personal website trying to get the next big scoop or some shit like that. That's also why he's not revealing more information, because it'd take work to get that information and he's not interested in doing that.
The man's well-known in the hacker community; do you really think he'd let his name forever tarnished to have a few giggles? At the very least, if he really wanted to fuck with us then he could have done it anonymously.
