My point isn't that they'd add these new megas or any new pokemon to X/Y, just they they'd become compatible with people using them.
Now about the patching arguements- the only reason to use these patches is if you're playing with someone else who has those new megas. Let's face it, most of that interaction is online- which if can't download a patch, chances are you can't do anyway.
I'm just saying that there's no need to write off the chances of any more megas this gen just because they aren't in X/Y.
(also, you can just up and bring your DS to anywhere with wifi. This isn't like having an Xbone or whatever where that always online shit would have crippled you- you just need to head on over to any hotspot for a couple of minutes.)
