Mystical Fire.

Flamethrower is the only relevant Fire STAB you'll need except perhaps Fire Blast (either or, not both).

Mystical Fire lets you tank special hits better, but you already have decent special bulk, while Will-o-wisp will let you handle physical attackers better.

It burns the enemy with a really manageable accuracy.

Nope. I wasn't remotely interested in any of this stuff pre 6. Didn't even EV train. Just slapped four attack moves on my pokemans. I'm guessing other status effects reduce other stats?

I don't see why people go 3-4 attacks on Delphox when she's pretty much a fast special damage sponge with unfortunate typing and a limited movepool.

Not all of them (Para is -50% speed), but if Burn didn't have the -damage effect then it would just be a shittier Poison.

Holy fuck I have never witnessed such an unbridled hatred for a starter before. Gamefreak tried their hardest to make sure Delphox is completely useless. I guess they didn't want anyone competing with Greninja's amazing movepool, ability and status options.

I'm genuinely curious. Why do you have Return on Delphox? Open up it's Summary page and take a look at it's Attack and Special Attack stats. After that, take a look at Return and Flamethrower and notice that they have different attack types (Attack and Special Attack).

From here ask yourself why the fuck you're using a physical attack when it's clearly a special attacker.
