They were too afraid to make amazing fairy-types, so we have decent barely-usable ones instead. The fact that steel resists it also makes carrying the moves a bit harder on some 'mon since I don't see steel's dominance leaving anytime soon.

Just because a type barely has any weaknesses and hits a type for super-effective damage doesn't mean it is good. The type doesn't define the Pokemon, the Pokemon define the type.

Sylveon has no coverage and its best stat is Sp. Def, which is a problem considering many of its threats are physical based

Azumarill is walled by anything with high Defense and/or Taunters, and suffers to stallers

All of them but one aren't even viable, and that exception is Togekiss, which was a beast before Fairy typing

However it's now at the mercy of Metagross, Toxicroak, and anything faster than it that can pack a move to take it down

It trades a Ghost immunity for a Dragon immunity, which honestly a Ghost immunity is more useful, and adds on 2 weaknesses

Please, they're about as useful as Fire or Electric Types. They have their niches, but they're not OP. Dragon's still OP this gen, believe it or not. They just have another better counter, so people won't have to rely on Ice Types.

Sylveon has near perfect coverage with Moon Blast and Shadow Ball. HP Ground hits all the types that resist that combo super-effectively.

Yeah they're dragons, but this is offset by having dragons be a unique type with only a few Pokemon to their type, and only three non-legendary Dragon types are REALLY good in standard play: Dragonite, Salamence, Garchomp, with all of them taking 4x Ice weaknesses

the pokemon that carry the type all suck balls except for maybe azumarill and mega-mawile. but the type still adds something to the metagame imo. My alakazam packs dazzling gleam and it gives it amazing coverage
