That seems like basically what happened.

I don't see the resemblance

"head gem" looks absolutely different
the eyes are absolutely different too
the chest gem is very different
the white thing serves different purposes
the rock is orientes differently and has a different number of gems
not to mention one is a bunny and the other one is a girl
