I think the implication is that the RNG for stat inheritance changes only when the Egg is generated, so you check which stats are coming from where, then reset and replace the parents with ones where that inheritance gives a perfect child.

I play on both simulators and on wifi because both are fun and they both have very distinct feelings.
When playing on wifi I only play with my friends (who would also generate their teams) so saying I use hacked pokemon to stomp kids is not a valid reply.

I never understood why people are so hateful to each other or care about the subject. If you spend X amount of hours breeding the perfect team because you wanted to and your opponent spends 10 minutes generating their perfect team what is the big deal? In the scenario that both teams are perfect it is a fair fight. If you are butt hurt because you spent so much time breeding then don't breed. As long as it is a fair fight and you enjoyed the process in which you and your team came to be then why are people complaining?

Yes, but that's a hassle and takes time, especially with how quickly breeding is. Again, useful to get that first 5 IV parent, but after that it's just slow.

5IV is enough for most pokes, unless you're going for a mixed attacker. But even then, with this method, it'll save whatever value the random IV is. So if you rolled a 31, you get your 6IV right there.

Also, do not use Pokemon with several overlapping IVs (like 31/31/31/x/x/x and x/31/31/31/x/x) as your test parents, otherwise it will be impossible for you to determine from which parent the IV came from.

Random non safari captures are the best for spread testing in my experience.

Ugh, I'm trying to see the use in this method, but I just can't. From what I see, you need a large ratio of Pokemon with 31 IVs you have access to, then you brred the random ones untill you know which IVs the parents are going to pass down, then switch those parents out for the specific 31 IV ones. So basically, it's only really useful if you have tons of breeding rejects, and at that point, you probably already have the Pokemon you want.

Ok, so basically you throw two magikarp in with 6 differing IVs with each other, reject first egg, save, hatch second egg until you get an IV spread you want, reset then throw in parents of any mon who have IV's that correspond to the spread that has been 'seeded'.

I think I get it, but the problem is getting parents with good enough IVs in the first place, I'm still trying to figure out how to save time with this.

Use the old method until you have enough breeding stock with 2-3 IV's in the stats you want, then use this method. Even better if you have a lot of FS dittos.

If they're shiny, sure, that's just unfair. It will ruin the rarity of a shiny Pokémon (not that they're incredibly rare anymore).

you have a 1/6 chance the non inherited stat will be atk. after that, each stat has a 1/2 chance of being inherited from the correct parent. you have a (1/6)*(1/2)^5 chance of getting that egg, so 1/200 chance. if you get something closer with overlap though, substitute that in as it gets rid of those 1/2s
