>>15507979Well, the thing is the stat math actually has a slight bump in it.
The BASIC formula is
Double the Base Stat, add the IVs, add one point for every 4 EVs, then apply a percentage for the level (e.g. 25% for level 25, 50% for level 50, etc) and multiply for nature.
But for whatever weird reason, before the nature multiplication, they just add 5 to every stat. No idea why, but they do. And with HP, they add your level rather than just 5.
The end result is that damage is accentuated at lower levels. At level 50, the game just plays faster, because HP is less buffed while attack gets the same buff.
I think the reason GF uses level 50 is because of that; same reason they use half-teams for singles/4 mons for doubles, and emphasize doubles. Matches are over in like 5-8 turns, whereas Smogon singles take usually 12-18 turns IIRC.
I think the idea behind capping WiFi like that is to force the game to play faster. Yeah, it's shit, but what can you do.
you can at least hope that at some point in the future, GameFreak discovers the computing miracle of floating point math and lets damage and stat calcs operate on fractions of a point instead of rounding all the damn time and causing these inconsistencies, but I digressIf you don't mind me asking, what mon are you using that would want to outspeed itself with spare stat points?
