This is not a typical thread on /vp/. This is a thread dedicated to trying to find order in the chaos of what we call "types".

Our goal in this thread is simple.

We try to define a set rule of characteristics for each type, that each Pokémon abides too.

This can be simple, like the flying type, or complex, like the ground type.

Alas, we shall search in this quest to try to organize the first crucial topic in the Pokémon universe.

If this project will end successfully, I shall commence more.

Example - The Flying type -

General traits associated to the flying type include:

- Simply being able to fly.

This does not correspond a 100%, as there are exceptions like the Doduo family and Gyarados.

Then what does the flying type constitute?

For one, the main criteria should be the ability to have some kind of flying prowess. The exceptions do not fulfil the need to scrap this criteria, as they're mostly used to fill the type of said pokemon.

As such, the exceptions should be seen as unique mons in the type

It is this kind of discussion that I want to see triggered.

Failure to do so results in 404, simple. If there is no need for these kind of discussions, then my efforts will go op in smoke.
