Do people often lie on the GTS? For example, I am willing to trade my Xerneas for a perfect IV ditto, but do people usually lie about the amount of IVs their ditto has?

I don't have any experience from it, but assume that as soon as someone can make a cheap pokemon, they will.

Also don't forget there's people playing Pokemon who wont know what the words "five IVs" means.

Yes

I traded a Scizor for a (supposedly) a ditto with 4 perfect IVs

The pink blob barely had 2 perfect IV

Absolutely. I was asking for an Adamant Tyrunt for a long while - traded over 20 friend safari dittos on the GTS for one. Never got it and just gave up and came here for one.

Yeah. I got off decently lucky with a Ralts that was promised to have 5 perfect IVs, but actually only had 4, with terrible stats in the rest. You can't really get penalized for not giving something with the stats you promised, so...

I traded a level 1 Squirtle I bred that was totally random, probably no good perfect IVs. I put "Perfect IVs." as the message and got a Xerneas when I checked in the next couple hours. To be fair I was doing it to get a Xerneas for my 'dex without taking one from a friend, I'm not gonna lie on the GTS all day long.

tl;dr I have done it before so I'm sure a lot of people do it regularly

Meh Scizor are not that rare anyway, I can always get a new Scizor whithin seconds of depositing a Vivillon

plus i was bored, after 80 or so Ditto without more than 3 IV i said "it's worth a shot" however i'm not risking my Xerneas or another legendary
