It's 2017. For the upcoming Generation VII, initially, nothing seems like it's going to change. New Pokémon are steadily being announced, a few old ones get Mega Evolutions and normal evolutions alike. All is well in the Pokémon world.

And that's when GameFreak make an announcement that changes everything.

They are going to add over one hundred new abilities into the game.

All Pokémon species can have anywhere from three to six abilities native to that species, and there are no more hidden abilities.

And last, but not least.

Pokémon can now have two abilities at once.
