Picking up my copy of X tomorrow. Already decided on Squirtle as my Kanto starter, but which of the new ones should I get? I'm also getting the free Torchic for the Dex entry and then permaboxing it.

Unless you want 2 water types, I'd run that.
I picked Bulbasaur Kohdok 4098-3526-4984(Spearow, Swanna, Tropius)

Theyre all pretty good. You dont have to worry about type coverage much in the game campaign. I rolled all 3 Fire Starters that they chuck into your basket. Just roll with whoever you think is the cutest. And remember, you can get the one youre strong against at the end of the game from an NPC

You'll probably box your starter after lv 50 anyway so pick based on which trio you want

Word of advice: If you don't want to be ridiculously overlevelled by the third gym, turn OFF the Exp.Share.

>>15520352 Speed Boost Torchic seems OP. Maybe I'll use it in a competitive team but campaign-wise, it's getting boxed.

>>15520397 They give it to you WAAAAAAAAY to early and the game isn't scaled to counteract that. Once I reached Yveltal, I was excited to see it was a whopping level...50.
I sighed and chucked my level 62 Chestnaught out against it. And he was my LOWEST. It's GREAT for leveling weak pokes and getting evo data, but it makes the main game too easy.
Should have been the prize for beating the E4 or Team Flare or something.
