He's clearly an electric eel-lamprey-thing: water/electric is obvious. Yet it's pure electric... And it levitates? What? It made no sense in Gen V.
But then I saw him in Gen VI, swimming in mid-air, and it clicked. In Pokemon, fish ALWAYS "swim" in midair (sans magikarp). Eelektross is a visual pun, instead of "swimming" in the air, he's ACTUALLY "swimming" in the air.
I liked the design, typing, ability, and everything else a hell of a lot more when I saw that.
As for Magnezone, ask yourself why smacking Pidgey with a bone does no damage. Typing is weird sometimes. Maybe Magnezone can only float slightly and can't avoid earthquakes.
