well with these and pokerus, you can EV train a pokemon in a single stat in 5 horde battles. they can be started with sweet scent. with exp share on, you can use a different pokemon to ohko all 5 at once. it's faster than super training.

I'm starting from scratch, with just 2 IV dittos. I understood it was better to use the power items and alternating dittos at first to make a set of stronger IV parents and then switch to the knot

I beat the game with a Linoone. Hes level 90 now and can solo the E4 but hes crap for the Battle Mansion/earning BP.

Just use the Destiny Knot, breed a few useful 'mons and then bother with power items.

Alternatively, find male Pokemon in the same egg group with decent IVs if you can't get better Ditto. I won't say power items are completely redundant, but Destiny Knot is a much better bet.

Also, battling in the Maison is easy as shit. Get yourself any old Aegislash and any Mega with OP attack or special attack. Third one is optional really. I got my power items with 'mons I didn't even EV train.
