I can never really make a competitive team, i've just got plans for lots of different competitively viable mons and will maybe throw them together. At the very least i'll be able to keep the Battle Maison AI on its toes. Currently about to finish my TR Reuniclus. One of my favourite pokemon and a really potent anti-sweeper. Then a M-Absol, or maybe a Contrary Malamar, or a M-Mawile, or a M-Khan. So many choices for the new gen.

I'm not sure why I have Excadrill, as I don't really like it much. After picking him I realised how helpful he'd be though (a second option for Baton Pass). I mean, there's Forretress, but I'd rather reduce the Fire weakness a little. I just need something to handle Water types more effectively at this point.
The problem is that I like using Pokémon I favour, but most of them I'm either really bad with, or they're just no viable for competitive play. Assume the former.

>>15528637 Why wouldn't you hype Mega Scizor? It's Scizor with better attack and tremendous defenses. More damage than Lefties, more bulk than Cband, and and no HP loss from LO.
On a RoostDance set the better defenses are far better than Lefties all on their own, because nothing is going to be killing a 252 HP Roost Scizor with chip damage, and 140/100 defenses backed up by that HP EV will definitely allow him to survive more threats than a Leftovers, on top of having even more base Attack.
And it's not like you have to do a RoostDance set on him. Those defenses and lack of LO recoil allow him to set up considerably more aggressively than anything else.

So i'm building a 3-man random battle team of emolga, chandelure and a currently unpicked third. the team is gonna revolve around chandelure and hex, but i can't seem to find a good grass or poison typed tank that can endure some hits and throw sleep powder/status moves around (aside from venusaur but i can't find anyone who would part with a venusaurite so it's not an option) does anyone have any suggestions?

Tyranitar for example resists both STABs and has a bajilion SPDef. He'll be top tier threats for sure, but he might filled a niche that doesn't really exist in OU right now

So I have this team that I've been working on the last two days, I really want it to work but it seems like one thing in my setup goes wrong and everything falls apart... maybe someone could help me and give some advice?>Scoliopede@focusband Speedboost>Batonpass >protect >EQ >Sub >Togekiss@leftovers Serene grace>Air slash >Nasty Plot >Shimmering glaze >baton pass >Amparos@mega amphy static>Focus blast >Tbolt >Volt switch >Dragonpulse I think the idea is pretty obvious, but in case it's not I use the scolipede to get 3 speedboosts and possibly a protected sub to pass to togekiss who uses nasty plot first turn and if it's a safe switch in another time or two, if not safe I use Airslash to try and flinch or batonpass to amphy. The goal is to get 3 speedboosts and 3 nasty plots passed to ampharos to sweep.

scizor - bullet punch, swords dance, roost, U-turn. adamant with metal coat, HP and Atk evs Togekiss - nasty plot, wish, baton pass, air slash. Calm baton passer holding leftovers. serene grace nature for more flinches. HP def and speed EVs Gardevoir - Moonblast, shadow ball, thunderbolt, either focus blast, psychic or will-owisp last. Timid mega stone, HP and speed EVs. The idea is to have her receive a baton pass so I'm thinking I'll go with a 4th attack for coverage than will-o, since that just lets her die faster. Gliscor - toxic, protect, Earthquake and either ice fang, fire fang or poison jab depending on my 6th. Holding toxic orb, he'll be the staller/annoyer. Speed, HP and maybe a little def EVs? Malamar - super power, topsy turvy, Light screen, Reflect. Maybe replace a protection wall with foul play? Haven't decided item yet, Atk and HP EVs though. I was thinking of building a bulky attacker Hippowdon but I'm not sure which set is more viable. As far as I know, there isn't any way yet to get Slack Off to Hippo yet since you need a member of Slakoth or Chimchar family for that and neither can be found in X/Y so I had to come up with something else. Comments on these? Do they both suck? Bulky Assault Vest: Hippowdon @ Assault Vest 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 (S)Def Careful / Impish nature -Earthquake -Stone Edge / Rock Slide -Fire Fang -Ice Fang (?) Fire Fang is chosen as the primary coverage move since it hits all the Pokemon that resist EdgeQuake (Breloom, Torterra, Chesnaught and Levitate Bronzong) for super effective damage, while also making it easier to get past Forretress, Ferrothorn and Scizor. Ice Fang is nice when facing one of those many common Dragons that have a 4x weakness to Ice. The obvious problem in this set is that it has no recovery but I tried to compensate that with good overall bulk. RestTalk: Hippowdon @ Leftovers 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef Careful nature -Earthquake -Stone Edge / Rock Slide -Rest -Sleep Talk I have no idea whether RestTalk is viable on Hippowdon or not. EdgeQuake has a nice coverage even without Fire Fang.

>>15559214 I think I'm going to give Mega-Mawile a shot if Mega-Banette doesn't work out, which I'm still skeptical about. She does get Sucker Punch and Shadow Sneak, but it pretty much leaves me walled against any dark type. I think my best bet is to Will-O-Wisp those.

How does this Nidoking sound? Nidoking@Life Orb Nature: Modest / Timid EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe ~ Earth Power ~ Sludge Wave ~ Ice Beam ~ Fire Blast That should be a good set right? With Sheer Force, and a Life orb he should be doing a truckload of damage.

>>15559987 I have dragon coverage on my two other dragons. Unless something is running a scarf or using a wall build, Noivern can usually 1-shot them with Draco Meteor, let alone the Hydregion.

First ever team i've made. The idea is to para and burn everybody I can, while inducing confusion rage, then doing what I can with Talon Flame and Cloyster, then with whoever is left from that, use the two tricks on them so they will be locked into a single move, then cleaning up with M-Gengar, who will use sub to bait an attack, then disable, and they'll be trapped by him. So they will struggle to death as I wail on them. Sludge bomb on gengar for fairy types. Feedback please! >>15560121 thats not the point i was making. the coverage given specifically to Gengar (that wont miss) versus the coverage given to Gengar (that misses so much that it has miss in its nickname), is what you need to take into consideration
Anonymous
>>15559706 Looks like the team has a pretty big Ice weakness, and the only two pokemon on the team who resist Water aren't very bulky, not to mention how Water-types love to carry Ice moves.
>>15560121 So you're fine with your MegaGengar being destroyed by Garchomps?

So I'm building a team with favorites, but I don't know if I should use Klefki or Aegislash is the support role more important than another offensive hitter the team so far is MegaYZard, Gardevoir, Venomoth, Mamoswine, MoxieMenceit is a casual team so i alrady know about sneaky pebbles, thank you in advance though

>>15560695 With all those heavy-hitters already, a dual screens Klefki would help a lot more than yet another sweeper.
Anonymous
>>15560695 I would go with klefki. Support is seriously so helpful in this. You could even use a smeargle instead to get rocks and sticky web. The speed drop helps so much.
Klefki @ Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 Def / 248 HP / 8 Atk
Impish Nature

>>15560298 I haven't had too much of a problem with Ice attacks since I can switch over to Tyranitar, who can tank like a motherfucker. I've seen him survive two STAB focus blasts, so only physical Ice moves are a big deal.
As for the garchop wrecking my gengar, well, I actually don't run him all that often, and the few times he's faced a garchomp, they almost always go for EQ, giving me a free turn to switch to Noivern who can either kill it outright, or setup gengar for a revenge kill. Alternatively, attacking the garchomp can setup Noivern for the kill.
Unless its ScarfChomp. Those things wreck my shit.
