So we all love Vivillon, right? And the gimmick it has? Well let's say the gimmick sticks, and henceforth, every generation introduces one, maybe even two Pokémon that have a ton of different patterns. What kind of Pokémon would you like to see with this gimmick? Should it stick to just butterflies, or should it become more widespread to anything? Should it stick to being location-based, or should other factors be involved? For example, here are some ideas I've come up with: >jewel beetle based off of the jewel of the OT's birth stone (all 3DSes have its owner's birthday registered) >painted turtle with different shell designs based on location (designs would actually be based on the location, and the shell would be like a canvas) >rhinoceros beetle with a horn that varies in shape and a shell that varies in color to match the shape (trident horn and blue shell, heart horn and pink shell, etc. - design might be based on what the OT's "favorite color" selected in the mii program is) >a tiger that actually does change its stripes (maybe some stripes would be in different colors or designs or something like that) Collecting stuff like this could be pretty fun, right? What kind of Pokémon like that would you like to collect, /vp/?

I really like that jewel beetle idea. Wouldn't really like to see something location-based again though.

As a hawaiifag I've had a very unfairly easy time of it this gen what with being able to trade ocean vivs for anything and everything, and I'd like to see that kind of luck spread around more. I'm thinking colors/patterns based randomly on your trainer number (or 3DS system serial number? so people can't just reset the game over and over to get a number they like.) There would be a range of color patterns available, ranging from very common through painfully scarce. This way, the lucky trainers with the rare pattern would theoretically be scattered more fairly around the world.

I'd love a cat Pokemon with varying patterns (tuxedo, calico, gray tabby, ginger tabby, white, gray, black, all the tabbies with white etc.) and yellow eyes. As shinies they'd be the same color a bit darker or lighter (like dilutes) but with odd eyecolors (green and blue). That'd be awesome.

>>15561499 They really fucked up with Gastrodon.
They said explicitly it looks the way it does because of Sinnoh and stuff.
So why didn't they give it a new Unova design and a new Kalos one? And a Johto and a Kanto one?
It could be like a "this Gastrodon was born in this game" kind of thing.
Such wasted potential...

A fairy type based on dresses and it could have different kinds of dresses? Honestly I wouldn't mind another butterfly so long as we get another bug type to go with it.

I love your turtle idea OP. Though I think if they do location again, they should make more designs so there aren't some really stupidly common ones.
