I'm gonna have to say no.
Pacing is shit. There's a long gap between the first three gyms and then the rest of the game goes super sanic fast.
Plot is a step backwards from BW1. Hate on BW1's plot all you want, it was undeniably a step forward for the series, by developing your rivals and having the gym leaders actually do shit. X/Y regresses by having Korrina be the only gym leader to do anything and keeping your rivals (except for Serena) completely static.
Post-game is pretty weak. Looker side-quest, legendaries, and Battle Maison are all there is. Most of the previous games had more.
The game feels pretty unpolished, with framerate drops, Lumiose City crash, and the camera angles fucking up whenever you're exploring the city.
The game's easy as shit even by Pokemon standards. Even if you have the EXP share turned off, it's still pretty easy with your rivals waiting until post-game to use more than 3 Pokemon, Gym leaders only using up to 3 Pokemon, the Elite Four only using 4 Pokemon, and Diantha having a horrible team.
That all being said, it's not a bad game, and it adds some pretty good stuff to the franchise: 400+ Pokemon to catch in the main story, Friend Safari being a much better way of obtaining hidden abilities than Dream World, the 3D models all look very good, and makes getting into competitive battling a whole lot easier with the changes they've made to breeding. As

>>15563097BW had Kyurem, and nearly everyone was calling it to be the mascot of Gray. Very few people called sequels.
