I don't see this posted that much, but here's what Shiny Mega Gyarados looks like next to Shiny Gyarados. Notice the Mega is like a darker red, almost purple like tint.

One of those Dragonair's was traded for a max IV Gible and a perfect spread Honedge. This one I have left is hands down the most valuable pokemon I have. Max IV's in everything but HP and SP.D and marvel scale.

Not going to the safari. What I do is find a safari mon I really want shiny, go to that safari, encounter and run from pokemon without leaving the safari until I've walked away with a shiny. Didn't find my first until my 100th hour anyway.

Soft reset if no shiny.
Switched to this after my second PC dump, was FAR more efficient, and incidentally how I did eventually find my shiny. You'll always have O-Power and don't need to waste time with the PC.

I found a Rash shiny Weepinbell with max Speed IVs the other day. Should I use Growth or some utility move like Sleep Powder, Sunny Day or Knock Off? The nerf in weather makes it hard for Weepinbell to make use of Chlorophyll and Growth and he's too frail to set up anyway. Problem is Victreebel doesn't learn Growth by level up so if I evolve it and forget the move then I can't relearn it.

Masuda chose this life for me, I didn't chose it. Over 22 boxes and no shiny, multiple chains over 60 thanks to constant practice... no shiny. GTS was my only option. Somehow, I have incredible luck on GTS, finding the shiny I want and not want on constant occasional searches, and then trading the rest. My boxes of random legendaries helps me on this quest.

Most of the time you MM endlessy only to get a shitty IVs/Natured shiny.
Why don't you collaborate? You IVs breed first a mon until its good, then you ask another guy to pass you good breed so you have a nice chance of getting a viable pokémon. If you collaborate all of you could easily get strong shinies.

Honestly, the GTS is decent for that shit. I've tossed up a bunch of extra 5IV Ralts for legendaries and gotten them, and gotten 5IV things in turn for those same legendaries.

Of course, I could easily rip people off (I don't), and have been ripped off, but it isn't really much of a loss considering I can just toss another Ralts up and get another legendary.

I evolved my Eevee into a Sylveon. Looks nice. I'm also partial to Vaporeon's colouring. At the end of the day though, it comes down to what you like the look of best.

Vaporeon and Sylveon also both have strong roles they can play, whereas I don't use Umbreon much. So if you like using your pokemon in battle instead of using them as box decoration, that might be something to consider.
