Poison type gym, because fuck yeah. I'd teach bitches how to deal with poison and arena traps(There'd be small pools of poison just casually laying around the gym)

There would be a giant ass stone blocking the entrance to my chamber. The only way to open up my chamber is to obviously use an incredibly strong pokemon. You could only challenge me with fighting types. Brawn vs brawn.

As to the becoming a gym leader, I remember reading somewhere that it is test based and only those with high enough test scores are able to become gym leaders. If in regards to the anime, There are more than the 8 cannon gyms within any given region, so you could just start one whenever and however you want. In regards to blue/red/leaf green/ fire red, there is the fighting type gym next to Sabrina, but it does not give out a badge.
