I cannot TELL you how many times I've had some random scrub challenge me to "real" matches where banned things are allowed or I don't use a certain technique or something as if, despite my dedication to learning the game and repeated contests with some of the best players in the world I would be completely helpless to a random with this addition.
Newsflash: a good player will still shit on you. If they're mean, they'll abuse the banned feature/item/character/etc. in the way that got it banned and shit on you EVEN HARDER THAN THEY WOULD HAVE OTHERWISE.
