Some based japanese guy found out that certain aspects of an egg are determined when you have an opportunity to affect the egg.
For example you can hatch an egg, reset, switch the species of pokemon, and as long as they have the same gender ratio, the egg will keep its gender.
This also affects IVs.
You know that pokemon inherit IVs from their parents. When you reject an egg, it determines what parent passes down what IVs.
You can reject an egg, save, bike and get the egg. You look at the egg, you find the father passed down HP and Speed. You just so happen to have gotten a male pokemon with 31 HP and Speed. (If you don't, just reset, bike reject the egg and save.) You find what the mother passed down, and find a find a female pokemon that has perfect IVs that match the ones passed down.
You're looking for new pokemon to replace your old ones. If you have 2 perfect IV pokemon, accept 3 perfect IV pokemon. Keep on repeating untill you have some 5 IV pokemon.
When you finally have multiple 5 IV pokemon, you can try for a 6 IV one. You need to know if the generated one is perfect, so don't use pokemon with perfect IVs to breed the test egg.
