They don't let you advance the story until you've caught it, so it's really easy to catch.
By comparison, Ditto is literally harder to catch than Yveltal.

I've never liked chucking a hundred balls to catch a pokemon.

It's basically rolling a dice over and over and over again until you get the number you want.

I'm glad they got rid of it for story pokemon.

D/P did a lot of shit wrong but thier legendary handling was top notch especially in Platinum.

Fuck man, Platinum was so awesome in retrospect, I've gotta pick that up again.

Regarding Premier Balls, am I the only one who's sad that you can buy them as standalone balls now?

I always though it fun to buy 200 pokeballs to get enough premier balls for a legendary fight.

The only thing I'm really annoyed with is that even though the Poke Ball store has a FRIEND BALL behind the counter, none of the Johto Balls are available outside of HGSS.

They're easily my favorite designs.

Catching a legendary in old games is not about chucking loads of balls mindlessly until you catch it.

It's about building up enough funds that you can afford all these balls you're going to chuck. it's about having a team that can 50-60 hits from an uber while you don't fight back and instead just chuck balls at it.

That is where the difficulty comes in. That is what made legendary fights feel epic. That is what is missing from the legendary battles in the newer games

BW2 made it nice, in that there wasn't a capture in the main story. Just a battle, with questionable difficulty.

If future games don't focus on a legendary to capture, or legendary pokemon at all in the story, then they can have more difficult catch rates.

I love battling online and seeing kids send out their xerneas/ylvetal in a master ball.
The second i KO'd xerneas and it made me rebattle I knew it was the same (if not less) cap rate of resh/zek.
At least mewtwo and zygrade gave me a slight challenge of soft resets.
