I play competitively and the fact that o-powers exist rule out the Exp boost. Criticals in main game don't matter.

I like the boosts and messages that go along with them. Gives the singleplayer aspect a better feeling of immersion, feels like they're really my bros and not just numbers being calculated to determine who does what to who.
