Also, new breed mechanics are like, destiny know give 5 random iv from parents to the egg.

Female pass down pokeballs...etc etc Look at serebii or someone should post the guide.
Anonymous
>>15629501 Friend Safari pokemon all have two IVs. I got four 3-IV dittos in an hour yesterday.
Also, the Destiny Knot item passes down 5 random IVs from its parent.
So, basically, farm for a friend safari Galvantula (2 perfect IVs guaranteed) with the right nature, and a friend safari Ditto (2 perfect IVs guaranteed). Have the Galvantula hold an everstone to pass down nature and the ditto hold a Destiny Knot. Rinse and repeat until your baby has all perfect IVs.

>>15627690 The only other option is to Battle Chateau. Requires ~250k investment to get all the writs (more money, higher invite rate, more challenge/level) + Amulet Coin + Prize Money (harder to keep up due to nature of Chateau).
You just wander around throughout the day, fighting all the new people. Money comes in through old rich people < gym leaders < E4 < Diantha. Requires you to be at least a Duke/Duchess for E4 access.
>>15627765 E4 is good. For low level mons, Lucky Egg + EXP Power + Le Wow being carried by a high level mon in front in rotation battles.
Chansey/Audino Safari is decent for low-mid/mid ranges.
For high level ranges, it's more efficient to Wonder Trade for Pokemiles, sending those through Pokesync to Global Link, and buying/sending the cheap Rare Candies.
Also, leave two mons in Daycare, and weigh down the directional pad and circle around Lumiose Tower while sleeping.
>>15628206 You hear right. Mothers now pass down egg moves.
>>15628463 More medals apparently unlock more things for the Pokemile club at PGL, but I don't think I've seen Ultra Balls at the GL.
WTrade some more and use the unsent Pokemiles for Ultra Balls at the Lumiose NPC.
>>15629180 IVs are basically your genetics. Some people get born with a better immune system, muscle structure, capacity to learn, etc.
EVs are effectively the training you do.

I never did IV breeding before this gen, because my autfu wasn't strong enough. Shit is easymode now, though. If you're not into it, you're not into it. But if you want to breed a 'perfect' team-- or at least a 4-IV team--, nothing's stopping you.
Anonymous
>>15629464 Yes you have to add them.
>>15629707 Yes. Also, egg moves are 'locked in' when you put them in the Daycare, so you don't have to worry about Daycare leveling removing the egg move from their moves. Even if that happens and you want to rebreed, move reminder NPC now reminds egg moves mons were born with.

I just hatched a Flabébé with perfect IVs in all but Attack and Defense. Should I keep going and hope to get Defense perfect, or is it good without?

How long does breeding for perfect pokes take? I'm trying for a perfect Slowpoke and I have a Slowpoke with perfect IVs in Defense, Sp Defense and Speed, I have a Cubone with p. IVs in Sp Attack and HP and I have Ditto with perfect IV in Attack and Speed.
I have bred the Slowpoke (holding the destiny knot to retain it's 3 perfect IVs) with the Cubone and I am constantly getting Pokes with one or two IVs with ratings that are not "outstanding". I have bred over 2 dozen eggs so far and the best I have gotten is a Slowpoke with exactly the same IVs as the Slowpoke I started with.
What am I doing wrong, do I just need more patience because I have been at this for a good 5 hours. I am following the Smogon forum guide.

>>15630708 For comparison, I've bred seven things now and have around 300 eggs hatched.
I would try breeding a Slowpoke with the IVs you don't already have on a slowpoke by using Dittos, then put the old slowpoke and new one in together. Each time you get a baby with better IVs than the parent of its gender, sub it back in, making sure you always have at least one of the parents with each IV perfect in at any time.

I'm wondering what the chances are to pass down certain IVs while using Destiny Knot. Has anyone done the math out yet?
Mj. Spoilers
>>15630847 Pretty sure its 2/5.
4/5 to get that stat at all, then 50% to get it from the right parent. Unless both parents have that stat, then it's 4/5.
Anonymous
Quoted By:
>>15630708 The Destiny Knot does not ensure the passing down of the perfect stats. It's still random what 5 IVs it takes from the parents.
Make sure you're using incest to your advantage. Always swap out the parents with better babies and keep going until you've got 4/5 IV parents to up your chances of perfect IV inheritance.
Anonymous
>>15630847 It's pretty simple probability. It picks one of the six to not be passed down, and then the other five are 50/50 chance of coming from each parent, so if only one of them has, say, perfect attack, there's a (5/6)*(1/2) = (5/12) chance of that being passed down.
If both parents have that stat perfect, there's a 5/6 chance of it being passed down.
If you have two IVs you want passed down, both of which are only on one parent, then there's a (5/12)^2 =(25/144) chance of them both being passed down.
And so on
Or did you mean the RNG method? 'cos I don't think there's much progress on working that out yet.

Probability of stat picked by DK * probability of specific stat among the DK choices
5/12 * 1/5 = 1/12
For 4iv/5iv parent breeding, a rule of thumb:
You're guaranteed (# - 1) perfect IVs, where # is the number of overlapping perfect IVs.

Where the fuck is the pass to fix the blackout?
Anonymous
Quoted By:
>>15631110 Well, it obviously depends on what parents you have. The more perfects the parents have, the more possible combinations the destiny knot can select to give a perfect baby.
If you have two flawless parents, there's a 1/6 chance that the baby will have all five of the IVs you want
If you have one flawless parents and one with only four of the perfects you want then it becomes 1/12, since it also requires that the right parent is picked for that missing IV
If you have one flawless parent and one with only three perfects it becomes 1/24, for obvious reasons
If you have two parents each with only four perfects, but which have all the necessary IVs between them, I think it's still 1/24
So I may be wrong, but I think the formula for probability of the five IVs you want, assuming the parents have every desired IV between them, is
1 / {6*2^(10-[flawed, relevant IVs]) }

New to breeding, IV's, EV's etc. I have finally obtained a 5 IV Mawile with an appropriate nature, I'd now like to EV train it for battling online. Be aware, however, that some online modes don't auto-level them, so you'll have to train it up to level 50 yourself. The reason for this is so people can use strategies like FEAR, which require the Pokémon to be a low level.
Also, an interesting quirk is that, because stats at level 50 are half that of level 100, eight EVs, and two IVs, equate to one stat point increase, which means you can sometimes save a couple of EVs and redistribute them elsewhere.
