If anything, Smogon does a good job of making most if the OU mons predictable as fuck. Especially when someone has multiple OU paired together-- you just know they are cookie cutter tier. As long as your team of pals don't have completely garbage stats or movepools, you can build your teams to counter the current popular metas if your really trying to improve your wins. Heck, as long as you don't suck shit with strategizing and reading your opponent, you'd probably be fine picking a balanced team of your favorites and still come out with a decent win ratio.
>playing just to win with cookie cutters
>not playing for challenge, fun, and satisfying win with a more original team of your favorite Pokemon
Smogon fags don't know how to balance their enjoyment of the game and competitive spirit. It's sad really... Like an actor who gave up a career in acting in well-written variety of stage shows he loved for decent money, only to act in shitty hollywood movie roles that made lots of money but were unfulfilling, unchallenging, and always the same schtick in every movie.
