I remember opening up a booster pack at the checkout because I literally could not wait until after.
First card I pull out is a holographic Blastoise, my very first Pokemon card ever.
I don't remember it, but my mom tells me to this day that a man behind us offered her $100 on the spot for it, but she said no.

I wonder where my cards are now. They're still.. somewhere, in a binder, all in sleeves. But my family moved so many times and I'm halfway across the country now.

My first card wasn't a foil but same story about the binder of cards. I wish I could find it so fucking bad, I had multiple first edition charizards. I don't really remember any other specific cards but there's some nice ones in there. Stupid redneck side of the family moved into our old house so everything I was storing their got scattered to different locations, they basically trashed the house. Maybe one day I'll find them though..

Same thing happened to Yugioh, you can only print so many cards with 50 HP, one attack that does 10+ and another that does 30.
Anyone who played Yugioh flipped their shit when level 4s started having 2000 attack.
