I dunno OP there are some really powerful double battle abilities around that aren't too hard to set up. There's one that involves slurrpuff getting like 10 boosts in 1 turn

Rage Powder, Belly Drum.

Sweep.

When Butterfree dies, switch to your Follow Me Togekiss, then to your Rage Powder Volcarona or something.

I don't strictly mean usability by smogon's standards; gaining 2 weaknesses (and to a lesser extent the explosion nerf from last gen) is such a slap to the face from nintendo that I can't be bothered to play this gen.

Ok so I tried this team, not really expecting much, but I got to 15 in super doubles without needing a 3rd Pokemon.

Golurk & Noivern. Noivern spammed Boomburst and Golurk spammed Earthquake. They were immune to each other but the combo generally killed the enemies in 1 turn.

I think I just got a bit lucky though to be fair.
