They don't sound any different but with a few extra bits thrown in, Fraxure's cry doesn't anything like it used to though.

Haxorus sounds pretty cool though.

I actually kind of hate the difference in sound between generations.

I send out a beautifully 3D modelled Gengar and it is accompanied by a horrible low fi sound. I wish they'd update them all.

That actually really bothered me while I was playing, but thankfully in the end game (which is to say, pvp) no one use pikachu because it isn't fully evolved, and no one would use Raichu because there's better electric sweepers.

What's really funny I think is that in Pokemon Origin they all just make animal sounds and don't just retardedly repeat their names. Even Pikachu only makes these "bzz bzz" noises

That's not true. In Origins, the pokemon said their Japanese names. It just was a lot less obvious. Just watch the first scene with Pidgey. It clearly says "Popo".
